Ladies, thanks for all the support, Eda has struggled since birth. As a newborn, she would just stare into space. She can not handle lots of commotion. That is why she spends alot of time in her room, playing Barbies, writing in her journal, coloring and staring at Princess eye spy.

She had severe speech issues, and we are overcoming those. However, she can not count past 10, and still can not recite her ABCs without messing up. She can not recognize all of the numbers or letters.

She is a HOARDER, which drives me crazy! She loves anything "shiny" and will hide it away. She is maticulous with writing. She loves to write and has a journal, but it is mainly a mix of the letters she knows, maybe it is her own language.

She is an emotional rollercoaster, and painfully shy. She can not handle any change in her routine, and has meltdowns daily. She is the sweetest, most gentle child, and loves to mother hen. Her BFF is autistic, and they just play so well together. Eda has difficulty keeping up with Annaka, and can not play with her or her friends.

From day one, I have said there is just something that is not right...I can't put my finger on it. I have fought for the testing and services. I just want to do what is best, and I feel I need more than what the school can give. My insurance will pay for testing, so I want to get it done, before the district drops my BCBS Master Health Plus, and puts me on a lesser plan.

Thanks for the reccomendations, and Chiara, if you can PM me your number, i may call you sometime.

Dawn, Daniel has grown 1 inch in the past month!! I think new clothes are going to be in our near future. He has almost a foot to grow to hit the estimated height from the pediatrician.

What size shoe is he wearing? Christopher is now wearing the same size as hubby...13.

We just bought 11, but Bill wears 12. Daniel's foot, however, is much narrower than Bill's so that is good since Bill's is quite wide. Daniel's is average width. Daniel is only 5'3" right now. He just cannot wait to shoot up. I hope he does soon because he is heavy weight wise and it would be good for him to thin out. (that is usually how he grows....gets chunky and then shoots up). Quite a few of his friends have gotten taller than him this year and Daniel's birthday is in November, he will be 14. Most of them are younger.

BTW- our nephew is 6'4" and wears a size 15 shoe...it is hard to find shoes for him

As her Mom- you know best! It is just a matter of finding the right people to work with. That said, the above struck a cord. This is something we deal with at my house. Even for my DH to be honest. Schedule, schedule, schedule. Routine, routine, routine. That is part of why he has to have EVERYTHING so planned when we travel.
I have also learned with my youngest to not even ATTEMPT to rush him or skip a step with getting ready. It just makes things take longer. Not easy to deal with, but since you are away of the 'things' you will be able to figure out the best way to parent.

Hang in there girl and lots and lots of hugs!

Yes, Dawn will fall asleep sitting up - but she's sweet and we love her for it!! :)

The boys are getting ready to watch a Clint Eastwood movie. I think I'll scrap for a bit and then maybe read some - I haven't touched my book since vacation. Just finishing up on the sketch that was in this weeks newsletter :)

Wow - it sounds like a lot of your guys have big feet. LOL My guys are 6'3", but they both have 10.5 shoe, thankfully, so shoes are easier to find.

We made it home and I'm sad. I had knots in my stomach the closer we got to Laredo. I am just not feeling like dealing with everyone and everything here after having such nice southern hospitality everywhere else, and much prettier landscape as well.

Hugs to you Dawn! Keep pushing on the testing. I have a cousin with Aspergers and a co-worker's child. My co-worker has really taken advantage of a alot of public school services and her son has had a lot of challenges in school with social issues. However, he is on the honor roll and a very bright student.

Went out with the girls last night for dinner, it was fun and great to get together. It was a nice evening and we ate out on the patio at Bravo's. A relaxing evening for sure!

After 5 extra innings of play, and the lights going out as ALec is at bat, we won 6-5. The championship game is Saturday.

I made baklava from the back of the Phyllo dough box and it was really good. I've never had any before, so didn't know what to compare it to, but my family liked it. My husband didn't like it quite as well as his friend's mom's who used to make it and send it to them before we wives moved here - but she is from Greece - so duh!

Thats why I won't make it. It will never be as good as my best friends Mom's when I was growing up. They were greek and made the best spinach pie and baklava. though there is a pretty good greek bakery here. Mine is good (the recipe off the back of the box)just not great.

I don't care for it, but there is no way I would try to make it. We live in an area that has a really big Greek community. Many Greek restaurants, bakeries, etc.
