What made it extra special is that my mom, who was serving in the California State Assembly at the time, got to be right there with me because she was one of the dignitaries that was part of the graduation ceremony. She was up on the stage with other dignitaries, and got up with me when I received my degree. She's the redhead next to me. I tried to match the papers with the colors in my hood, which are turquoise and dark orange/red.
